Speakers

Nicolas Roope

Through his 20 years experience as a designer and conceptual thinker at the forefront of the digital media revolution, Nicolas has gained some incredible experiences along the way. His most potent insight is the realisation that digital - once and for all - is connecting everything, melting borders, divisions and prejudices along the way. We’re now in an age of sharing (not shoving); everything needs rethinking, reconstituting, reengineering and redesigning in order to meet rapidly rising expectations and standards of experience. It’s about time our work started to untangle some of the huge, looming problems caused by old ways of thinking applied to new problems, currently casting a dark shadow over our way of life as we gaze into the future.

Nicolas' ability to navigate delicately through the overlapping disciplines of creativity, design and technology, without losing a clear and grounded vision, is his greatest strength. Any individual, business or organisation who want to move forward, ultimately needs to tame these forces into coherent plans and visions. So Nicolas is incredibly well placed to lead and support any entity with a real ambition to invent and constitute a new them for this new age.

Nicolas was awarded The Design Entrepreneur Medal (2014), The Drum's Entrepreneur Honor (2015), The Wired 100 (2011), Adage Creative 50 (2011), The Tech City Insider 100 and the BIMA Digital Hall of Fame (inaugural 20). He's won many awards and sat and chaired many international juries.

Nicolas still amazed by how little the link between creativity and value is understood and managed in business. If he has one goal it is to help to change this through demonstration.
